I am directing Hamlet’s soliloquies for SF Shakes’ 30th anniversary Shakespeare in the Parklet program. Come out to Yerba Buena Gardens (behind the Metreon) on Thursday, August 23 at 5:30pm to see some of the best actresses in the Bay Area take on Hamlet.

I’m directing The Aftershock, a new 10-minute play by Ignacio Zulueta, this Monday March 19 for PlayGround, on stage at Berkeley Rep. These are always a ton of fun; six ten-minute plays written this week by great local playwrights, a bunch of the Bay Area’s best actors, a couple of hours of rehearsal, and go.
Reborning by Zayd Dohrn, which I directed last year at SF Playhouse, has been nominated for six Bay Area Critics Circle Awards:

Ana loves stories, and wants the other kids to act them out the way they’re written. But when she finds herself caught up in the legend of Anansi and the Sky God, with music, beats and rhymes creating a world of magic and mystery, Ana discovers that sometimes you have to write your own story—and that writing your own story might be the most exciting thing you can do.
The African folktale is updated, reimagined, and filled with music, beats and rhymes in this new play for elementary schoolers, specially commissioned by Marin Theatre Company.
The show will tour to elementary schools in February and March 2012. There will be public performances at MTC on March 24, 25, and 31.
I directed a workshop and reading of Toil And/Or Trouble, a new play by Lauren Gunderson, as a part of Just Theater’s New Play Lab. Starring Michael Barrett Austin, Anthony Nemirovsky, and Alex Chreighton.
